YouTube hates me? Need help...

Howdy,

I got a big problem... I uploaded my first AMV to YouTube, but the quality is just horrible

This is the full procedure:

1) I encode my MKV's (H.264 codec) to MOV (MPEG-4 codec) files for editing
2) I edit the videos and make the AMV
3) I export the AMV as a MOV (H.264 codec) file and upload it to YouTube

The anime I use is not HD (1280x720).
The quality is realy good when I watch it in VLC or something else, but the moment it goes to YouTube it's ruined.

I tried different video data rates, frames per second, quality of the compressor, but in the end it's all for nothing...
Is there something wrong with my encoding / transcoding procedure or...?

I'm running out of ideas and could realy use some help.

is it only the quality or the music doesn't follow the video ?

if there's a sync problem, i would probably think it may be the codec used.

for example: when i finished a amv , i first exported it in uncompressed avi, then recoded in h.264 ( mp4).
the amv wasn't synced.

then i re-exported my amv in lagaryth avi, then re-coded in h.264, it was perfect.

it's the only solution i can find.

The syncing is fine.

It's the overall quality of the vid that is completely messed up

But euh wait.... what program did you use to recode it to H.264?

Render your amv in lagarith or uncompressed and then recode it in mp4 with Amvsimple (check deluxe) or Zarxgui for example. They are simple to use.

Try to respect 16/9 ratio.
If after that you have bad quality again maybe it's your footages which are bad.
