STK are almost all at Japan Expo (including me) so we'll have more time to comment it monday.
but little quick opinion: it was really enough to reach Coup de Coeur.

If you are ironic, I don't see the reason for being so, since this video has been made in three days and it has surely details that a lot of people may not be able to do in the same amount of time. Moreover, there's more than what you see, as usual for all my videos.

The best touch up could be in your AMV, it won't make it good if you don't have solid grounds for editing. I think you should rather focus on the editing basics before changing any stuff in your footage. Of course you can improve yourself by doing both but it won't happen in 3 days. As for the story, I'd say it is pretty simple so it won't help you making your clip unforgettable. Therefore, I think a making of is interesting if you've done something really hard to comprehend but in you case, we haven't got any surprise.
I hope you'll understand that my comment is not mean but realistic.

Sincerely, I have already have the bases and I don't lack those ones, it's simply an editing style which can be liked or not, and in particularly in this case it's a bit worse than the usual because of the small amount of time I had and the lack of really good scenes to edit with (if you've seen the anime, you know what I'm talking about). Surely my goal wasn't improve myself lol I simply decided to participate at JE in the really last moment, just three days left, so I had to finish it in a hurry. Please don't take take my answer as if I'm hurt or angry, simply the reality you see isn't the real one.

I'm glad you're not mad but it's sad your clip's bad. (just for the poetry)
Seriously ok, "there's a vision you can't see" and all the rest but don't be overconfident. You sure had the level to be "coup de cœur" at this JE but not to be finalist. Next time come back with a project that you worked on seriously and we'll see if you've got what it takes =P

Hello
Not too bad, the basis is indeed here, but even with something simple and a poor animation, I think one can pull out a much more interesting editing, especially if you're familiar with a good basis. So yeah that was quite the "minimum" in terms of transition and pace management.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed it, well the anime, the song and a well-done edit made it for me. I don't think you always need to give it all, it's already a good thing that you took the time to send a vid to the contest. Good job and see ya on a more serious project!

Well, since I've edited it in a little time, my goal weren't the finals of course, but I was quite sure to be in the CDC cause there were 42 selectioned videos and a lot of unknown editors among the participants (with this I don't mean that they had to be necessary bad). About the next year, sin I'll probably have little time to edit again, so I'm not sure I'll be able to do something; surely I won't participate if I'll have to edit again in three days

Yo ! I think i never commented one of your videos here even if i know all your last videos xD
I made something really quickly too so i understand ^^ , it was in 5 days though , and i was selected in the CDC , i think that you deserved to be in the CDC too x)
Anyway , +1 about the making of , here it's not that important , and you limited yourself , i mean with the sources so it was even more difficult xD , that's why the result isn't that good , it was still enjoyable though.
Next time try to send a better project , especially if you can do much more better (this goes for me too hahahaha).
Good luck for your next one!

The main topic about the making-of is that you mostly showed, what i call, ''ghost work'';when you work the source to remove a parasite element, like the characters exchanged with luffy. when you look at making-of by umika/el.g, they show how they made ''How the fuck have they done that???'' sequences.I'm totally aware that the amount of work in comparison is totally unfair, but my point is that the making of you made shows things you tend to hide, not really inpressive moments that we're thrilling to know it was made. as for the making of itself, i think you should have worked the lights on luffy a bit more, cause he seems on another light point. nevertheless, the marine touch-up is nice.
as for the AMV itself, story was simple to follow: as skydean said it won't be legendary, but for a - than & week, it's quite enough ! Only dissapointement, in story, was Luffy involved in the fight. Zorro pushing him back in order to finish his fight himself or simply no luffy at all would have been better IMO.
the marines sequences, when he finds back his friend, was fine at first look, but when you start the übersync , 0;50-1;00, the traveling goes everywhere, top-left-right-bottom-scaling... it's like theres 10 different cameras and it's kinda harsh between each cuts to see a smooth movement.
To sum it up, it was fun to watch, could have been a CDC. As for the making-of, hope you don't mind about it.

Hey! Sorry for late, but I'm enjoying my holidays First of all I just want to clarify, without any polemical purpose, which is my think about "making of": in my opinion, as a primary thing, a making of has to show all the passages of the ralization of the elaborated scenes, and not only a "before -> after" like the Umika's ones (in these cases, I find useless a making of made in this way cause it's already clear what she has made, so why doesn't she show us how she made all those things, and not only "hey, before it was like this, and now it's like this"). However, there are many other cases like this one, and you may already know them. Moreover, I think that a making of is more cool if it shows us things which I didn't notice in the vision of the video; the most representative case is the making of made by Qwaqa for his Time: because, sincerely, who the fuck has noticed that there was a shoe removed by the background, there was a different hour in the clock of the protagonist, and her room has different walls than the original in the anime? I guess no one, but he made a making of and now everyone knows it and appreciate it.

About the story, I just followed the chronological events of the anime, I've just synthesized them. About the oversynced scenes, I understand what you mean, next time I'll find another way to follow the timing. Thanks for the comment, don't worry about the making of, I understood your point of view.
